Andrew Shaffer began his career as a Systems Engineer with EDS providing facilities
management services in the banking division. Working primarily in Cobol
and Assembler
he was in charge of maintaining several major banking systems including savings and mortgage systems. While at EDS he participated in several bank conversions writing
critical code that converted hundreds of millions of dollars. Also while there he
began working with early personal computers.
Mr. Shaffer founded Personal Computer Facilities Management (PC-FM, Inc.) to
provide a range of services. For over 20 years Mr. Shaffer has created
and directed the development of
mission critical applications for a wide
variety of industries. He has personally trained hundreds of people in computer
subjects in both business and classroom settings. He has designed, purchased, built and extended numerous
networks for clients. Mr. Shaffer represented Symantec Corp. in their early days
and has spoken at PC-Expo on their behalf. Throughout his career at PC-FM Mr. Shaffer
has advised clients on a wide variety of computer topics and is considered an essential
part of their operations.
